No torch but I've been blasting it with PB blaster to no avail. Already saw his write up.
The upper mount bolts have been removed. It's frozen at the wheel carrier connection. How do you get enough leverage in the small confined space and do they make some kind of strut pulled?
The...
Anybody have a technique for removing the rear shocks on a 2000 740iL? I've been trying all day to remove the old rear shock. It won't budge. Both upper and lower bolts have been removed and I've...
What model do you have? The tool is slightly different for each model. I have one for the 2002 530i. I live near Burke.

The EWS module is part of the alarm and immobilizer system. It prevents the car from starting if it doesn't recognize your key so it cuts off the electrical connection to the starter. I was able to...
I have a similar problem with my 2000 740iL (turn key and nothing happens). According to my Peake code reader it is the EWS module. So I just reset the code and then my car starts. It sounds like...
Anyone in Northern VA area have the pressurized brake bleeder kit that I can borrow this weekend? Thanks,
Kimo
If your car is still drivable then I guess you should be able to buy a rebuilt one and swap it out at one of the DIY events? Or am I missing something?
Have it towed to the next session then.
Moses,
You should bring your car to the next DIY session. You just missed one today.

Does this happen if it snows as forecasted?
Too late. I needed the practice so I took the fan off and applied some anti seize grease.
I completed the job using a regular open box craftsman 32 mm wrench. The clutch fan nut came off really easy. I did forget to put anti-seize on the nut. Will this be a problem or should i put some on...

Thanks for the info Bob!
Thanks Anders. I didn't know a regular 32 mm wrench would fit in there. Can you describe to me how to use that in combo with a screw driver? I might just go this route if it's feasible on my car.

I was wondering if anyone in the Fairfax/Burke/Centerville, VA area has a 32 mm fan clutch wrench that I could borrow for a day? I need to replace my water pump and thermostat.
thanks,
Kimo

Is anyone doing a brake job at tomorrow's DIY? I need to change my rear brake rotors and pads on my wife's 530i. Are members allowed to come and watch if they missed the sign up?
Thanks,
Kimo
