Thanks Steve. You gonna make it up this way (SP, VIR) for any events this summer?
I registered for this event, which will be my first event with the club. How many days in advance can we get the technical inspection done? I'm going to have my car in for service this week and could get it inspected, but it will be more than a month in advance.
Registration for the March 21 - 22 NCC Drivers' School @ Summit Point Raceway - Main Circuit has been extended until February 14th. Please tell your friends and encourage new students to sign up for this event. The more the merrier! :) I won't be able to make this one, however, and I will miss you all!:frown:
Sorry to hear that Tom...
You know I'll be there.
Can I come and watch this one to see how it goes before taking the plunge?
Have Fun,
Rick
P.S. - I can take photos while I watch.
Absolutely yes to both!
Hey guys,
Just want to see how open the club is for registering for this event with non-bmw's ?
I've done an HPDE with the NJ BMW crew, and to my surprise no one gave me any grief :).
Ron
What's a non-BMW?
Seriously, we allow all makes but there are certain restrictions such as no SUVs, convertibles, non-registered race cars, etc. The website under Chapter Programs, Driver Schools should give all the details.
Hello all, i read a few posts up that the reg period has been extended untill Feb 14th.. I Have not done any HPDE events and want to get into it. As a first time HPDE driver do i have to do both days or can i do either sat or sunday.
Thank you all for your help
- Mike
Priority is given to those who do two days,
If you can only do one day, I would recommend Saturday over Sunday.
But would strongly recommend both days.
Especially for your first time.
Always hated the second day and especially after lunch. Odds were an incident was going to happen. A good second day was getting to
last instructor session without any problems except for some idiot instructor not rolling his window down when riding w/ a student. Yeah I am old noticed I said rolling the window down not putting the windown down.
Curse Dave Bryan and his stats. I had not pity for the poor cold instructor
whose students got balck falg because they were wimps.
I suspect a schools now making the motion of rolling the window down as the offending car and instructor pass pit out has no effect.
Second day of herding trials is a lot more relaxed in comparision especially if you got a Q the first day.
Dave Apker and the collies
So Dave?
How many schools were you the coordinator for anyway?
When will we know if we are accepted? I have never done a BMWCCA event, so I don't know the acceptance procedure.
I was a little concerned about how we do register....sending in a check with our driver's license copy (birthday, DL #, etc) and insurance card. I had to mail that from the PO.
Dave 's stats Dave Bryan's. never put a lot of credence into stats since i believe you can make stats support anything you want to say. However, experience running schools proved me wrong and Da e's stats were a greater predictor of student behavior.
You ladies running schools are more predictable than sheep or Dems when the control the WH, the Senate and the House.

I got my registration and check out on Feb 2nd, but I believe that i neglected to include my drivers license and insurance information
Is it ok to go ahead and send those on separately?
You should contact Doug Verner.

Thanks...
is this event full? is there a walk up policy?
Thx,
Mark Simons
I sent couple of PM to Doug but I haven't heard anything back about it. I guess it means take a hint. I will be there either way to photograph from the track side.
I told Mark how to contact Doug directly. Unfortunately (for him) the event is full.
Glad to hear it filled! That's a great sign!
I have a friend coming out to Summit on Saturday just to observe and check it out. He's never been to the track before. I'd like for him to get a taste of what it's like out there. I'm wondering if it's possible for him to get a ride during the instructor sessions? Is this even a possibility? I was able to get a ride the first time I visited Summit(after signing a waiver), but it wasn't a BMWCCA track day.
Yes, signing the waiver and wearing the proper helmet will enable him to get a ride with an instructor.
In a e,hp, w sp
See you all at the track :D
Great event!! Wish I could have made both days.
It was an excellent event. I don't think there were any wrecks, which is always nice. RaceDayPhoto took a ton of photos at the event. Can't wait to check them out when they post em.
I had more fun on Saturday than I have ever had in 10+ years of washing and waxing. I am currently trying to unload every single ounce of Griots product that I own on Ebay so that I can buy track tires and pads for my E30!! (just kidding of course)
I am so glad that I finally tried a DE. I will be back for sure. Never thought a 70+ year old woman could teach me so much about driving...
Now all you track guys need to come out to the Deutsche Marque in May. It is almost as much fun to see BMW's parked as it is to see them flying around a track!!
