Nov 19 Do It Yourself (DIY) Program Overview
The 2011 Do It Yourself (DIY) program allows National Capital Chapter (NCC) BMW Car Club of America (CCA) Members to work on their own cars under the supervision of expert mechanics and technicians provided by the DIY Sponsor. The purpose of the DIY is to learn and practice proper maintenance and repair techniques that you can routinely complete within a two-and-one-half-hour (2.5 hour) time period.
There are typically several NCC members who can assist you when an extra pair of hands or advice is needed. We are happy to show newcomers the joys of working on your own car. Most events start at between 8 am and 9 am and typically finish at 3 pm. Lunch for the event is provided by the club.
The DIY Program Webpage is here http://www.nccbmwcca.org/content.php?119-diy
This event offers online registration and payment through MotorsportReg.com.
Registration will be through Motorsportreg.com
I just signed up.
Am I going to be able to work on my car or is it going to be just a talk by Mike Miller?
When I went to motorsportreg.com, all I saw was a sign up for the DIY for 11/19. Is that it?
I believe so, the DIY on that particular day was cancelled therefore the Tech session with Mike Miller being hosted by AT Speed is now the DIY event of the day. I've already signed up and am looking forward to talking with Mike about bimmers and such...
Maybe I've missed something, is this still a full DIY, or just a talk at 1pm? I haven't seen any other start time listed...
No it's not a DIY at all, it's just a Tech Talk featuring Mike Miller and he will be there for a Q&A. Hope to see you there!
Excellent "live" Tech Talk session with Roundel's Mike Miller, great turn-out and Bob Miller of AT Speed was a gracious host for allowing the use of his facility. He also offered a one 10% discount on labor to everyone who attended the event today. We need to do this event again...
