Virginia BMWCCA License Plate?

...The real question is what would the plate look like? I suppose it would have the blue and white CCA logo on the left side and have 5-6 letter spaces available next to it. What would be across the bottom? Probably couldn't fit "National Capital Chapter" on there...

I don't think the Tidewater and Blue Ridge chapters would appreciate "National Capital Chapter" on there even if it did fit

I would be in for one plate if it happens.

We have a state rep agreed to submit our plate to the state assembly and the numbers are good last I checked.

Next, would be to collect everyone's money and paper work and send along to Richmond.

I'll drop a msg with the group's treasurer if we can still use the checking account and po box. Or if you know who I should contact about this, please msg me. Thanks!

I believe the treasurer agreed to handle the money the last time I checked but that was a while ago, better double check.

I just sent my msg to the treasurer and I believe it is the same gentlemen I spoke with over a year ago. Hopefully we can use the groups account to collect the money upfront.

Vanity plates will have up to 6 characters available and you can transfer your current vanity plate to this plate when it is ready.

The plate would be ready after I collect 350 applications with fees, submit to Richmond, and a state legislator will have to put on the ballot to vote on. After the state has approved the plate, then plates will be available. The process could possibly take up to 12-24 months.

The fees are $10 for the BMW CCA plate or $20 for the BMW CCA vanity plate. If I missed any other questions, let me know.

Has nationals approved the design? You cannot use the logo without written consent of the national organization.

It has been a year or two since we last had permission for that design.

Found out today that the CCA logo is not acceptable and a new design for the chapter is coming soon...

I'll update as I hear more about the new logo....

Need to check with BMW NA since the CCA logo is expected to change due to changes in the International Council logo rules. I'll let Steve know as soon as I hear back.

So are you saying CCA won't let us use the logo or there is a new one that we must use?

There may be new CCA logo coming along. When? I we don't know.

We want to be sure there is no problem to continue the use of the current logo on the plate after it has changed. As soon as we hear from BMW I will let Steve know.

Where!

Hey I will be renewing my membership and just moved to VA from MD (no more CCA plates)... Can I join the list (if there is one)

There was a request (within the past year) seeking names of those members interested in the VA plates, but I haven't heard anything more from Billy, the point man.
