My E46 2001 330CI automatic with 253,000 miles engine has finally died. My mechanic soaked the bad cylinder in diesel fuel (it worked for other vehicles) but not for mine. At this point it is more cost effective to get the rebuilt or replace with a another.
Does anyone know a reputable place in the DC metro area that knows how to rebuild or can replace an engine, and knows BMWs?
I was thinking just replace with an M3 engine but then I was told my automatic trans would have to change to. Or, I could just get a rebuilt 330CI engine beefed up?
