Mr. Yomi Baruwa of NAB Auto Appearance Salon's Alexandria location has invited up to 50 club members to join him and the staff to learn the techniques and tricks to keep our cars looking as great as they perform. The seminar will be held on Sunday, March 29, from 11:00AM to 2:00PM.

Attendance is open to members of the other marques represented at the Deutsche Marque Concours, so act fast! Please bring your own chair to ensure you are comfortable during the workshop.

HERE are the details.

Just to clarify - this event is open to ALL members. You do not have to be a DMC participant to attend. We hope you'll catch the detailing fever and bring your baby out in May!
All MBCA, PCA and ACNA members are also invited.

Registered. It will be interesting to learn of all the things I've been doing wrong for years.

Love to attend, but I'll be attending an annual celebratory DIY Mechanics' Brunch. Maybe in future.

It would be great to have a workshop like this on an annual basis, depending on the feedback from this one.
We're half-filled so far (25 registered), so looking at a good turnout!

Yes it would be nice to have one every year. There was one last year, but it had a very limited number of slots

10 spots remain for the workshop! If you haven't mailed your check yet, please try to get it out this week.

3 spots left, and 14 checks not yet received. Please get them in the mail!
I plan to meet with Yomi this weekend to let him know what problems you have related to me:
brake dust on wheels
scratches
fading clear coat
shoe scuffs on driver's plastic seat surround & door panels

how to bring back the shine on chrome lip wheels.
swirl removal
engine bay detailing products

-Most pro shops use proprietary/commercial/bulk cleaners, degreasers, etc., but I'll try to get this info and their approaches to your other questions. I use Simple Green in various concentrations.

how to get some of the small dents out of the quarter panels

detailing myths vs reality

-Removing stains that show up on the B Pillar part of the headliner from driving with the windows down frequently
-Plastic polishing
-Best method of removing wiper tracks
-Best deodorizer for the car to bring back original smell (if possible) [i.e. change cabin filter]
-Cleaning fenderliners/fenderwells

Thanks for the great turnout for this event! The feedback from Yomi, our host, and the attending members indicate that this is something we need to do again. We barely got the exterior covered today, so we can learn more about paint correction and move on to the engine compartment and interior on future sessions.

If I didn't get a chance to meet you and check your name on the registrants' list, please drop me a note saying that you were there!

If you missed the session today and want to learn more, our friends at the Mercedes-Benz club have invited us to attend their workshop at Detail Authority in Herndon VA on Saturday, April 25th. More info here:

i wish i could have gone today, i'm sure there was plenty of good information all around.
