So I am finding that trying to keep my wheels shiny is quite an uphill battle. Can anyone recommend either a product, method or device that I can try. I have tried McQuires Wheel cleaner to no avail. I have tried a soft brush drill bit but that doesn't work that well either. Any assistance would be welcomed.

Welcome to the chapter! That's quite a car for your first BMW!!

Your wheels might need a round of iron remover in addition to the wheel cleaner. I know Meguiar's makes offers a black wheel-specific cleaner - don't know if that's just marketing or chemical magic! Once clean, the best bet would be a ceramic coating for longevity.
