Hello Again BMW National Capital Chapter Corral Attendees-

Race weekend is less than two weeks away! This message provides additional information about the BMW National Capital Chapter (NCC) Corral and the race. For your convenience, I have also included my first message at the end of this one.

    1. The BMW NCC Car Corral will be open Thursday evening from 6:00-8:00pm. If you want to get a head start on the weekend, I strongly recommend you bring your car to the corral on Thursday evening and avoid the hassle of Friday morning traffic in downtown Baltimore. Cars will be able to enter the Car Corral Paddock as early as 6:00am on Friday and Sunday and 5:00am on Saturday. Cars will be able to begin exiting the Car Corral Paddock after Noon or after the majority of cars have entered the corral for the day. Due to the number of cars parking in the Car Corral Paddock, there is no guarantee that you will be able to exit the corral in your car before Noon on any day.

    2. Almost all BMW NCC corral passes and vehicle passes ordered for our corral through MotorsportReg.com have now been mailed out by BGP. There are a handful that are still being processed. If you have not received yours yet, they should be arriving shortly.

    3. If you are bringing your BMW or Mini to the corral, you will need a 'VEHICLE PASS' ticket for each car and each day the car will be in the corral. This ticket entitles the holder to get his/her car into the corral to park. Your car will get either a sticker or hang tag for each day you park it in the corral. The 'VEHICLE PASS' ticket is also the individual ticket for one person to the BMW CCA Corral hospitality area, will serve as your paddock pass, allow you to participate in the parade lap on Saturday morning, gives access to our Car Corral Grandstand seating and provides you overall general admission to the track. Remember to take this ticket with you don't leave it in the car! You will need to pickup a blue 'BimmerWorld' lanyard at the BMW CCA Corral tent to hang around your neck and display the 'VEHICLE PASS' throughout the day. The 'BimmerWorld' lanyard and ticket will need to be visible when you are inside the BGP fence line. Yellow ticket is for Friday, Blue ticket is Saturday, Red ticket is for Sunday.

    4. If you are walking into the corral or if you are a passenger in a car being parked in the corral, you will need a 'CAR CORRAL' ticket for each day you attend the race. These corral tickets are good for entry into the BMW CCA Corral hospitality area, will serve as your paddock pass, allow you to participate in the parade lap on Saturday morning, gives access to our Car Corral Grandstand seating and provides you overall general admission to the track. You will need to pickup a blue 'BimmerWorld' lanyard at the BMW CCA Corral tent to hang around your neck and display the 'CAR CORRAL' throughout the day. The 'BimmerWorld' lanyard and ticket will need to be visible when you are inside the BGP fence line. Yellow ticket is for Friday, Blue ticket is Saturday, Red ticket is for Sunday.

    5. Any vehicle without a Friday, Saturday or Sunday sticker, hang tag or ticket, will need to be removed from the Car Corral by 11pm on the previous night or run the risk of being towed.
    6. On the back of each ticket is a barcode. BGP officials will be on hand to scan every ticket upon entering the corral. Every person MUST have a 'Vehicle Pass' or 'Car Corral' ticket to enter the BMW CCA Corral Hospitality Tent.

    7. The schedule for the race day events is now available on the BGP website at this link: http://baltimoregrandprix.com/pdf/race_schedule.pdf . The IMSA schedule is available at: http://www.americanlemans.com/primary1.php?cat=schedule|event .

    8. The BMW CCA Car Corral schedule, detailed driving instructions, a traffic map to the corral, BGP map and weekend schedules will soon be posted on the club website (www.nccbmwcca.org). Times and events are still a work in progress. Check the club website to get the latest information on what's happening and when. Schedules will be posted and available at the corral throughout the weekend.

    9. Important BMW National Capital Chapter Corral events and times on Saturday include:
-- 11:00am driver autograph session in the ALMS paddock open to the public
    -- 12:00 Noon - corral prize drawings in the BMW National Capital Chapter Corral;
-- 1:30-2:00pm Exclusive BMW National Capital Chapter Corral Attendee 'Meet & Greet' with BMW ALMS drivers in the ALMS Paddock (not open to the public).
-- Mike Renner from the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina will be present with a Performance Center M3.
-- Chris 'Teach" McNeil will appear courtesy of BMW Motorrad and Battley Cycles for autographs and Q&A.
NOTE: All times and locations are subject to change. Check the website and corral hospitality tent for up-to-the minute schedules.

    10. Mike Renner from the BMW Performance Center in South Carolina will be giving away a BMW ///M School at 'High Noon' on Saturday. Dunlop will give away a set of tires. BMW of Silver Spring will give away a BMW bicycle. Several more corral prizes have been donated by sponsors and our club members all given away at Noon on Saturday. Please support our sponsors and club members by attending the corral drawings. Remember, you must be present to win at all the corral prize drawings. The ///M School and Dunlop tire drawings require each participant to be a BMW CCA club member (any chapter). You will be required to show your BMW CCA membership card to receive a ticket to these drawings. Corral prize tickets will be provided at the hospitality tent when you arrive on Friday/Saturday.

    11. Parade laps will be Saturday morning, bright and early, at 7:00am! If you intend to participate in the parade laps, the Car Corral opens at 5:00am. You need to be in the Car Corral no later than 5:00am on Saturday morning if you want to participate in the Parade Laps. Lots of cars need to get into and out of the lot and onto the track, so don't under-estimate the time you will need to make this event. If you are late, you will miss it!

    12. There is a dedicated car corral grandstand - Grandstand #22 - for all car corral attendees. Seating is first-come, first-served and seats are not reserved.

    13. If you are leaving your car in the corral overnight and taking public transportation to the track the next morning, please check the following website for information on the BGP diversion plan for bus and light rail: http://www.mta.maryland.gov/baltimore-grand-prix and check here for bus: (http://mta.maryland.gov/local-bus), metro: (http://mta.maryland.gov/metro-subway) and light rail: (http://mta.maryland.gov/light-rail) fares and schedules.

    14. Some chairs and tables will be available in the corral hospitality tent. If you want a guaranteed place to sit and relax in the corral area, throw a folding chair in your trunk and bring it with you to the corral.

    15. We will not be providing beer in the BMW National Capital Chapter Corral. Sorry, the cost of beer through the required beverage supplier is beyond our budget. However, beer will be widely available for purchase at concession stands throughout the track area.

    16. Special thanks to all our sponsors and contributors, including: BMW North America, Radial Tire, Dunlop Tire, BMW Motorrad USA, Bimmerworld, Mike Renner, BMW Performance Center, 'Teach' McNeil, Battley Cycles, BMW of Silver Spring and Central Liquor.

    17. Please visit the BGP website (baltimoregrandprix.com) to see all the activities planned for the race weekend. When the track is cold, check out the Interactive Racing Zone, the Dr Pepper Go-Kart track, the Family Fun Zone, Budweiser Block Party and the Party Zone, which will have live bands throughout the entire weekend. Many of these activities are free with your corral ticket! The BMWNA property tent will also be a BIG attraction to our members with plenty of interactive activities. There will be BMW race cars from all eras, from the current e92 M3 to the CSL Batmobile and everything in between.

Thank you all again for your input and patience as we finalize plans for the weekend. We still need volunteers to help out at the BMW National Capital Chapter Car Corral throughout the weekend. If you would like to volunteer, or know someone who does, please contact Gordon Kimpel at 703-394-7142 or gmkimpel@gmail.com as soon as possible. We don't pay a lot (actually, we don't pay anything), but you get to support the club, meet some very nice people and help make this another great NCC BMW CCA club event.

Simply reply to this email if you have any further questions. I'll get back to you just as soon as I can.

    Thanks.
