Grand Am Race New Jersey

Hi guys just wondering if anyone was planning on heading up to New Jersey to watch some Grand Am racing the week of July 17 - 18.

I am going on Sunday only.

If you're only going to go for one day, I would recommend Saturday so you can see the Continental Tire Challenge Qualifying and race (3:15pm). Watch the Mid-Ohio CTC race this Saturday at 1pm on Speed and you'll see why this series is special for BMW enthusiasts. Rolex Grand-Am qualifying and other support races will also happen on Saturday.

I wish our autocross at Waldorf wasn't the same day.

I'm still debating skipping the autocross. Even if I did the first half of the morning session, I'm still not sure I could make it to NJMP in time for the Continental Tire race.

BMW Power is doing pretty well in the Rolex series this year too.

I think you can get there before the 3:15 race, but so much of the experience is hanging around the paddock before and after practice/qualifying sessions, talking to the participants, etc.

Agreed, we had an autocross last year that made me miss the Koni race/Saturday festivities last year.

I'll definitely be there Sunday nonetheless. If anyone wants to go, I can carpool.

It looks like the BMW Corral is a good deal whether going for Saturday, Sunday or the weekend. The inclusion of infield parking is especially nice.

Correction: a new schedule shows the Continental Tire Challenge race starting at 2:45, not 3:15.
