Concours Judging School

Let an expert concours judge show you how it's done. You'll also learn what judges look for at a concours – always good to know if you're competing. This is a great seminar, and provides us a larger number of members to comprise our pool of qualified judges for our events.

Date: Saturday April 10, 2010
Time: 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Location: Mercedes-Benz Eastern Vehicle Prep Center
2900 Childs Street

Raymond Lombardo, concours chairman for the Greater Washington Section, Mercedes-Benz Club of America, has extended the invitation to attend this workshop.
Our host for this class will be the MBUSA Eastern Vehicle Preparation Center (VPC) – a tour of the VPC is offers a rare look into how our favorite cars are processed as they go from “fresh off the boat” to ready for shipment to a dealer. And, under a recent agreement, the MBUSA Eastern VPC will be processing BMWs and Mini Coopers, so we'll have the chance to see even more great German cars.
We hope you plan on attending our concours judging school. Taught by MBCA immediate past President and MBCA National Concours Committee Chairman Pete Lesler, the program will begin at 10 am with a lecture that will last until about noon, when we will break for lunch (provided as part of the session). After lunch and some informal touring around the VPC, we will begin a “hands-on” session with participant cars. We're planning an outing in Baltimore at the conclusion of the program – details will be announced later, so be sure to check our website for updates.
We ask that those of you interested in attending please register soon, and please don't forget to tell us what car you are bringing! We would especially appreciate seeing cars at least ten years old, as it won't do as much good to judge brand new cars (and, yes, anything less than ten years old is new to me!). Knowing how many people, and cars we have coming a few weeks in advance will make it possible for us to better plan the day to make the event as enjoyable as possible.
