Daytona International Speedway has announced a special fan package for BMWCCA members attending the Daytona 24-Hour on Jan. 30-31. Details of the $250 package are at http://bmwcca.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6364

Note that a 4-day general admission ticket that includes infield parking, access to the grandstands, garages, and an event hat is only $90.

The 3-hour Koni Challenge, er, ah. . .Continential Tire Challenge race on Friday will include many M3s in the GS class and several 328s in the ST class (including our own RRT team). In the Rolex Grand-Am 24-Hour race that starts at 3pm Saturday (later than in the past) there will be two M6s in the GT class and there should be several BMW Dinan V8-powered prototypes. The perinial top runner Ganassi team of Scott Pruett and Memo Rios are likely to switch from Lexus to BMW power this year.

Daytona is about an 800-mile, 12-hour drive from DC. Many people camp at the track. Beach-side hotels are readilty available this weekend too.

I'm still thinking about this, but the GRM package sounds interesting as well. Who's going?

I'm giving this serious consideration. Anyone have hotel recommendations?

I'm having two Norwegian friends over to attend this. We'll be trying to get a camping spot. Probably drive down Thursday.
