Three months after the Daytona 24-Hour race, the Rolex Grand-Am series returns to the track for round 2 - a 250-mile race at VIR near Danville on Saturday afternoon. Two BMW-powered Daytona Prototype class cars are entered. Practice and qualifying is Friday. Support races both Saturday and Sunday include Formula BMW, the first round of the VW Jetta TDI Cup, a Skip Barber formula car series, and the Star Mazda formula cars. If you can't make it down to VIR, the Grand-Am race will be on Speed TV live at 2:30 Saturday.

NASA Mid-Atlantic will be hosting races at Summit Point this weekend. A number of BMWs are entered in various classes.

And the DC Region, SCCA will be hosting Round 1 of their 2009 Solo (autocross) series at the Redskins Stadium (FedEx Field) in Landover. Well over 200 cars are entered. Adult spectators are welcome. Unfortunately, due to insurance issues, bringing children is a hassle (pre-signed and notorized waivers signed by all parents are required).
