Knowing Eric, Friday :)

You're a member, so I'm sure you're in, it's just a matter of whether you got the heat you requested. We haven't turned anyone away all year.

What is "heat" anyway? Is it just a grouping?

Thomas,

Yes, "heat" is simply "run group". Note that you need to arrive early enough to finish the registration process, have the car inspected, and perform your "walk throughs" of the course (in between sessions since we don't want people dodging cars on the course).

If you've never been to an event, get there early and talk to some of the more experienced autocrossers. Also, don't be shy about asking for help or even asking to have someone ride along with you.

I was aiming for Wednesday this time.

Everyone who registered is getting in. Right now I'm just trying to decide if we want to run 2 or 3 heats... I need to see how many people actually register.

Registration is closed. Everyone who registered got in. :)

All events open for registration and technical inspection at 8:00 AM. Heats begin at 9:30 AM, with each heat following at approximately two hour intervals. Registration closes at noon. You must register at the event at least one hour prior to your heat or before registration closes, whichever is earlier.

Yes, we do run in the rain and we do have plenty of room for walk-up registration (just get there early).

Good times today, thanks Kevin for an interesting course. Anyone find a pair of Ray-Ban sunglasses today? Please PM me if so.

Thanks
Craig

Fun course. I liked it a lot.

No one left any glasses at the tent. At least not that I saw.

I thought it was a good event - until Brian drove my car and showed what it was capable of doing. I'm sorry we had to leave after the first heat, but wanted to see the BMW Club Race at Summit. Any estimate on when results will be posted?

I sent preliminary results on Saturday. Guess Steven's busy.

Yep. Just talked to him. He's not settled yet and has no internet. He'll get it posted soon though.

Big thanks to all that organized and ran the July 28 autocross! This was Ilsa's first run and she had a blast -- though I made her work more than she had in a long time!

Brian: How do you run in Modified, and your dad in Prepared in the same car!?!?!? I didn't know the driver counted as a mod!!!

Because his dad didn't want to get beat by Brian so he made him run Modified. Ironically on Sunday at the Cumberland AX I purposely drove Neil's Coupe in the "wrong" class (X-Prepared instead of Street Mod 2) thinking I'd have a chance to beat Brian who was driving a Factory Five Cobra replica. It didn't happen. Brian won, I was 4th. I would have won SM2. Live and learn.
See Sunday results:

You are allowed to upclass yourself in to a higher class if you want to. We don't have any rule against it. In this case Brian did it. I also upclassed myself to MS in a 318is so as to not mess up points for the owner of the car I borrowed.

We do not allow down classing. Putting an M3 in sport class won't work but if a guy in a 328 wants to run in SS with the M's, so be it.

I really didn't care about you running in my class (it wouldn't effect me) but I thought it would be funny for you to run against Adam and mess up his points.

Ouch. I take it the tranny had to be dropped to repair it?

Yep. And since I didn't have time to do it myself...
