I have added a title under each username.
NCC BMW CCA for members and guest for all others.
This is so when people are viewing classifieds they will know if a member posted the ad.
And I suppose I can drop the http://forum.nccbmwcca.org/images/ranks/nccbmwcca.rank.gif

But the image NCC BMW CCA member looks nicer :)

Just my 2 cents.

Just my 2 cents. It does.
I'll leave it and continue trying to figure how to use it in the new classifieds section. Currently non-members can post classifieds with approval figuring the ad might be of interest to a member.

Is there a reason these titles look like they were done on a 1953 Underwood typewriter?

Are there going to be titles for members of every club program/activity or just club racers? :icon_poke

Cool how you found the group membership section.

I don't want to go overboard and hope that people will police the new groups accordingly. Anyone abusing the added groups will force me remove them. I'm not looking for more work.

I really think you need to add a sheep herding group to SCCA Racing, BMW Club Racing and Instructors groups. Anyone can race a car or instruct takes a lot more skill and intelligence to get your dog and the sheep to do what you want them to do. It would be similar to the direction and type of corner changing everytime you got there and the corners having a brain! And you car having a mind of its own.

Thank you so much stefan. Now what did you volunteer me for?
Cant wait to go play with sheep in a below zero wind chill this afternoon.
My collies herding education has cost more than my college education. I could almost send one of them to UVA or VAtech but then they would throw off the curve

awww.. as much as I do like the new logos - I kinda preferred the retro typewriter font!!

But anyway let me add to the comments from the other folks here - you really are fantastic at keeping this website up and running :)

haha. Good job Steven.

My collies are smarter than any instructor I ever had at BMWCCA driving school. And yes Woody was one of my instructors.

OwnedbyDuncan: Why are you posting insults on this forum? Perhaps I just don't get the joke.
BTW The chapter is about to lose one of it's all-time best officers as I just found out this weekend that Steven will be moving down to Greenville and thus become a Sandlapper:frown:
Steven has been a tremendous resource for the NCC and I for one would like to recognize his accomplishments. We'll miss you very much!

I'm open for suggestions, but I don't want to get carried away.
Racers seem to be a sensitive group.

hey, who you calling SENSITIVE????? you trying to start sumtin????

:D

racers need to be identified. they are crazed ex-humans who have strange views on cars and are generally broke. their opinions are of nebulous value as they may be trying to hide some lame "speed secret". it is in the best interests of all concerned to know who they are in order to treat these schumaker wannabee's posts accordingly.

ahhh, ooohhh, wait.
nevermind.

won't hear that from me. ncc has some great programs. not a big deal if it doesn't do road racing, other chapters have it covered. all the chapters have their own personality, that is ok.

my problem with ncc is the danged racing habit i have prevents me from taking advantage of most of the cool stuff ncc does, like tours, auto-x, party, etc!

You don't think offering these *special titles just to club racers is not already getting carried away?

*For the record, I think the titles are silly. These things could easily be added to a sig. line if the user so wishes.

Is this forever or just until the app is fixed?Probably forever.
The script was custom written for this one purpose.
Now when the script runs it ends up taking down the site for hours.
There is a maintenance update scheduled for later this week.
I'll try it again, but not very hopeful.
I don't know if the problem is due to a server move or an update in the forum software.

The developer says it can't be the script. The host says it's not the server move.

Well, I tried something new. Didn't work. Took the site down again.
I'll try again after updating the forum software.
