Back by popular demand! Our 2nd annual NCC Cars & Chili Competition will return and we expect even bigger and better things. So if you have a family-secret recipe or you're just dying to show off your impeccable cooking skills, make a batch and bring it out!

Did I mention that there's a private kick-ass car collection where this event will be held?

Competition will be held from 10am to 1pm at a location in Baltimore.

Our 2nd Annual NCC Cars & Chili Competition will be another friendly cookoff among club members for the ultimate bragging rights of who can make the best chili. Registration is required for all attendees and the location address (Baltimore, MD area) will be sent out a few days prior to event. Competition will be held from 10am to 1pm.
There will be two (2) main categories:

Traditional Red - classic red chili sauce, with or without meat; NO beans, pasta, or other filler allowed
Homestyle - anything goes! red/green/white chili, with or without meat, beans/pasta/filler are optional

We have several great prizes lined up for those top recipes based on a judged points system and the following criteria:

Appearance - Visually appealing? Bright/colorful or dull/bland? Too oily?
Smell - How appetizing is the aroma? Does it make you want to dig right in?
Consistency - Meat-to-sauce ratio; Is it too mushy/too thin/too thick? Is the meat tender?
Flavor - How flavorful is it from the first bite to any aftertaste? Too spicy/not enough spice? Spices blend well together/overpowering?
Creativity - Did the chef use a wide variety of ingredients? How creative did the chef get in recipe creation? Did he/she think outside the box?

Each Chili Chef will be required to complete the official competition template which will include the following:

Name of chili - names should be clever and BMW or car related, of course!
Heat level/spiciness - On a scale of 1 (mild) to 10 (extremely spicy)
A listing of ALL ingredients - to avoid any allergies among judges

NCC will provide a wide variety of condiments such as shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped onions, hot sauces, paperware, utensils, drinks, etc. However, these items will NOT be used during the judging competition. Good luck!
If making chili is not your thing, then you can still join us as a 'taster'. Who knows, we may need your 'tasting' skills as a judge!

Less than 3 weeks away and we already have a great lineup of Chili Chefs ready to show you how its done! All the reigning champions return to reclaim their crown and we have some fledglings who want to take the top spot as this year's champion.

Whether you're whipping up a pot of awesomeness or just want to come judge the competition, we still have space to sign up. Actually, just getting a peek at the private car collection is worth the price of admission! But, once we hit our maximum, registration will close, so don't miss out on this great winter event!

With the impending precipitation expected to roll in tomorrow afternoon, we will be pushing up the start time to 10am. With the site owner's busy schedule, there weren't any good dates to re-schedule until the Spring, so we'll move on as planned, but just a little earlier.

Chili Chefs - this means you'll need to arrive by 9:30am so we can properly setup the room for judging.

Sorry for the lost hour of sleep, but I want to ensure that we all make it home safely before being tested again by Mother Nature.
