Pairing an iPhone 4S with a non-iDrive, base radio 2008 328 coupe

Recently, a coworker paired an iPhone with his Prius' radio. He said that I could do the same thing with my non-iDrive, base radio-equipped 2008 E92. After much web-browsing, I'm beginning to doubt that I can do so. None of my owner's manuals offer guidance. Any suggestions?

Do you have Bluetooth in your car? If you have premium package, bluetooth is usually included.
