Since this is the first event I'll be attending, can you explain what steps I need to take from this point on?
Do I have to call the sponsor to let them know what parts I need (fuel filter) or can I assume since I'm in the approved list, they'll have the part ready?
I guess I need to be there at 9am? Or a little bit earlier, maybe 8.45 ?? Obviously I'm bringing my tools and a repair manual...
I'll probably be done in about an hour or so, so if anyone needs help I can help.
At this point orig sign up is closed and it is walk up only. I, Michael Thomas, will be the event coordinator. Since Euro Tech is a new sponsor we are using care in the work that will be peformed at the site. There are only so many lifts. At this point there is still room for walk up but I will have to get back you on that. Oil change is fine with me brake fluid flush????. Lets do the first item and if time permits ok with brakes flush. This is also Super Bowl Sunday. At this point not sure if start time will be 9-3pm or 10-4pm. I will be in touch with everyone by next week.
Thanks for your patience
Michael Thomas
This is very close to my house. I am in the middle of building a new house, and I promised myself (and the wife) there would be no all-day car outings until we are in the new house.
Can I stop by to say hello and such - no work on my car.
Have Fun,
Rick
P.S. - besides, I would miss the Advanced Pre-Pregame What to Expect from the Countdown Show SuperBowl Sneak Peek Show. :-)

MMM.... I have seen it done at other DIYs which is not a difficult work. But only if you know what has to be done and prepared for it. My concern is that I like to keep the jobs for this DIY simple and short. I will meet with our sponsor tomorrow afternoon about the members who sign up by 1/25/10 which was the cut off date. Now it is walk up time. The only concern that there are limited lifts available(7). Now by tomorrow afternoon I will have a better picture and actual time when the garage will open to members. I will be in touch with everyone on the list and waiting list.
Only thing with valve covers, it is possible to crack them trying to pry the old gasket out. Strong dental picks come in handy.
My gasket was rock solid and brittle when I removed it.
I drove all the way to baltimore from Fairfax to find the shop closed, 65 miles on ice and snow. It was never updated in the forum that it is cancelled.

Please confirm if the EuroTech DIY, which was rescheduled from earlier in February to this Sunday, is on or off. Our coordinator was going to check with potential attendees in regard with chapter courtesy to the sponsor, but I haven't heard anything further. Unfortunately I cannot find a phone number for the coordinator or the sponsor on our reconfigured website.
Can anyone confirm the DIY status? Thanks.

Last thing I heard was that it is rescheduled for this Sunday. Since I haven't heard anything else, I assumed that it is on???
Sponsor had to reschedule for the 7/24/10 DIY date his shop is full due to the weather//
