Daytona International Speedway has announced a special fan package for BMWCCA members attending the Daytona 24-Hour on Jan. 30-31. Details of the $250 package are at http://bmwcca.org/forum/showthread.php?t=6364
Note that a 4-day general admission ticket that includes infield parking, access to the grandstands, garages, and an event hat is only $90.
The 3-hour Koni Challenge, er, ah. . .Continential Tire Challenge race on Friday will include many M3s in the GS class and several 328s in the ST class (including our own RRT team). In the Rolex Grand-Am 24-Hour race that starts at 3pm Saturday (later than in the past) there will be two M6s in the GT class and there should be several BMW Dinan V8-powered prototypes. The perinial top runner Ganassi team of Scott Pruett and Memo Rios are likely to switch from Lexus to BMW power this year.
Daytona is about an 800-mile, 12-hour drive from DC. Many people camp at the track. Beach-side hotels are readilty available this weekend too.
