Let me show you how it's done: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AcGuDyIMOaY. You could watch AJ's FTD run, but I think this is more achievable.

Seriously, though, if there was anyone who could have challenged Bogdan yesterday, I thought it would be you. Some guy named Clint beat him in event #4 so it is possible.

Go to walmart.com and buy it.. it is cheap.

Here is the link to how to set it up. I also got the wide angle lens.

Rt. 50 was literally flooded out when JT and I drove through it.

I couldn't move over, I was pinned in by traffic.

I just shut the engine off and drifted through the water.

You shut down? It wasn't that bad...

At least for me it wasn't. Having a 4x4 suspension was a good thing for that little bit!

I was a little worried about my intake but it was on the "dry" side. If it had been on the passenger's side that one might have flooded me.

My intake is no greater than 6" off the ground. So yes, I had to be careful. I've heard that superchargers can't compress water ...

    Ok.. who ordered the rain?

Last time I saw rain like that our big tent frame broke and a table blew into my 335.

    205 - aftermarket exhaust T1

142 - leave unchanged (disregard previous)

    290 - stock tires XS

Wow... I really wanted to go but the rain and my intake don't go together well, plus I have done enough rain events this year.

Thanks to the ax committee for a great AX season, even the Summit Point slide track was fun, I had a loose diff. on Saturday, very distracting, 2 bolts were GONE!, decided against a 4th run, so I could make it back to Harford county. Then I drove to Westminster in the Miata through the most torrential rain I've ever seen, must have been incredible to AX in!

I definitely sent the gf a text after my 3rd run saying it was the most amazing conditions ever fun-wise, but then my car drowned on the 4th run so maybe I should have chosen to sit that one out too, haha.

Anyway, here's my pumpkin I carved yesterday:

Are there any autocrosses in the winter?
I have been trying to get some interest in some sort of mid-winter skid pad event where we can have one part be instruction, and another be a skid pad challenge of sorts where we see who can make the most circuits in drift.

I have found skid pad practice invaluable in sensing available traction. My Z4 [still] has an open differential, which makes the pad difficult, but I would love to bring my 1994 Miata M out to an event and see what it'll do with its Torsen LSD.

Maybe with enough interest and some coaxing, we can get some winter "beat the rust off" events going.

This was last winter... don't laugh too hard... the surface wasn't consistent since it had ice, slush, and just wet spots. Also, my car isn't set up to drift. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=isS-tNQixlk
Still though, it was super fun, and I learned a lot.

Talk to me about this. I've contemplated for some time now.

Thanks man. Hopefully the CDC event isn't rained on...Usually they don't use the lower low but last event they held there I heard they did. I hope they do.

If you're referring to the 10/10 event, then they did not use the lower lot and the course came out to be 33 seconds long; however, they had basically a full-throttle section that extended from 20ish meters from the islands all the way to 30ish meters from the opposite corner, which was awesome.

Ohhh...I guess that's what they meant when they said lower lot.
