The following message was received from the Tarheel chapter. It only takes a phone call to the National Office (and $15.30) to have another chapter added to your membership:
Tarheel Members, the upcoming Tarheel HPDS at VIR can accommodate ten [10] more C students. If you didn't apply and think it is too late to do so now, good news....there is room for you. If you know other C level students spread the word that they need not hold back. We have Instructor coverage and track space for the next 10 C students to register. Full schools keep your costs down for the next event.

Today: "Congratulations, you are confirmed." wohoo!
From JoElla John of the Tarheel Chapter:
Students and Instructors:
Thank you for your support in staffing and filling the upcoming VIR driver school.
Registration had been suspended, but we have a strong turn out of Instructors and can accommodate a few more students; therefore I have reopened Motorsportreg.com and listed the spots available there. Several of you have written to inquire about available spots and this is your response. We are still using our guideline of about 32 students per run group on the full course with a couple more in the A group due to more liberal passing zones and higher level of skill of the drivers. I hope several more of you-all can join us. We must cut off registration on Feb. 23.
We are including $8.00 lunch tickets for all participants. Light breakfast will be available, at your own expense, for those who do not get the free breakfast at the motel. Time is tight so you may find that eating after the first run group has gridded is best.
Student's meeting is above the Pagoda; Instructors meet in the classroom.
Gasoline at the track will be priced not more than a penny more than name brand gas in town. I still advise coming with a full tank to avoid lines at the pumps. They are operated by credit card and open at all times. Air is available at the TECH shed. We allow time for your instructor to observe you doing your pre-grid tech, so there are no lines of cars being teched. Your TECH inspection from your mechanic is essential.
Assignments have been made, but will not be announced prior to the school. That way if we have to make last minute changes to accommodate staffing it will not create a problem. All of our instructors are top drawer, so anyone you get will be of great help.
Mike Hinkley will serve as our Chief Instructor for this school.
Please register on Friday evening 6PM - 10PM at the Sleep Inn Motel. All information is included in your student packet to be downloaded by you from www.tarheelbmwcca.org found by clicking on the Driver School date. Other general information is found by clicking on Driving School in the left banner on the home page.
We look forward to a great school. Especially with you there.

Car all teched. Finally found a track/mod friendly shop down here.
It's a Porsche shop with one guy who works on BMWs.
Picking the car up at Funktion tomorrow also, all teched. But of course there is a little drama: before I dropped it off I found one of the seat sliders loose. Luckily Soloracer has been very helpful this time and are sending me two new ones. They said they had found faults with the older sliders. So a two sliders later (on Tuesday) I'm all ready
