As I recall, there were accusations that the autocross chairman had pre-run the course a number of times, and joined the competition. I don't know that for sure. But why penalize the whole chapter?
About 1994 they started awarding an Okoberfest trophy to the chapter that had the most 2002s in attendance. Of course the host chapter won the first two years. National Capital Chapter hosted in 1996, and we disqualified ourselves from that trophy. In 1997 the host chapter won again. It stopped being awarded shortly after that.

I've been looking at last year's 3 Class. An average of 10 cars were in each 3A, 3B and 3C. I need to look at 2008 to see how many people competed.
If you have a 2002, all you need to so is show up and finish to get a trophy.
