BMW’s new 328i convertible beat out (in order) the Audi A4, Saab 9-3, VW EOS, and Volvo C70 in the June Car and Driver.
April 27, 2007

Another first-place for BMW: this one as the best upscale convertible. In “40-Somethings” in the June 2007 Car and Driver, BMW’s 328i convertible won a five-way shootout, managing 217 points of a possible 250, followed by the Audi A4 2.0T (208), Saab 9-3 2.0T, Volkswagen EOS 3.2, and Volvo C70TS. “In the 40-something class, it’s in a class by itself,” CD concluded, noting the highs were the “expected BMW virtues: price steering, crisp shifting, feline agility, [and] sports-car seats,” while lows were “unexpected mass, gloomy interior, [and] stiff pricing.”
