I have two current BMWs
1995 840
1987 M6
I am currently having trouble with the M6. The motor surges when it gets hot. I have changed the idle control valve and all attached hoses. I have replaced the O2 sensor. Does anyone have suggestions?

Have you checked the idle control module? I don't know where it is in the E24, but the E30s have it above the glove box near the ECU - it's a green box.
