I have always managed to get them out with a small enough hex driver. It's not a perfect fit, but unless they were installed by a gorilla, they should come out ok.
Too bad it's the same night as the SCCA banquet.

The beisan instructions say to lock the cams for single vanos, but not for dual vanos.
Anyone have the tools for locking the cams when doing the beisan vanos repair? I can order them, but they are likely to be a one time use thing so I figured I'd check for the ability to rent them...
I used to do that all the time. Change is what makes it fun.
never used either, but that damn buyfixit website wouldn't let me close the tab without continually popping up dialogs I had to click. I finally killed my browser. Based on that alone, I would...
AI is this Saturday, but is normally on Sundays.
I bought suspension parts from them for my E34. 1 year later I had to replace most of them again. The fact that they can't even spell brake line right is frightening. For a street car, don't put...
go to Advance and rent it. just make sure you get the one that is 2 long bolts with hooks on them (they have 2 kinds of spring compressors). Since you'll be removing the struts, you should have...
I've got a shorty craftsman 22mm that I just jumper another wrench onto to get leverage. Aim it towards the rear of the car and crank. It just takes time, but it's fairly easy.
You can pull all...
yep, they're doing fine. I might make it out to 1 or 2 events later in the year, but it's been way to crazy this year.
I'm Kevin, former autox chair, and occasionally I'll show up in my E30 325i.
Definitely Adam's better half, and don't worry--he drives it poorly too.
What happened to the FM transmitter that we started looking for 2 years ago? That will reach to a distant grid no matter what. No PA will reach far enough for everyone to hear on any site we run...
you've seen adam drive. He needs a working airbag...
You mean other than fixing whatever the airbag thinks is wrong? :)
rubbing the fender & rubbing the inner well are 2 different things. Probably you need to raise that damn car off the ground a bit and it will stop rubbing. Most of the nationally competitive E36s...
Saturday morning was drenched, stopped the event for 45 minutes for lightning. Brief shower Sunday morning too. Ended up being a very long weekend, and I fell apart on Sunday while the rest of DSP...
VA at least makes it easy to pay $5 to get a transit tag, which you just print out on the computer and is good for 3 days so you can buy the car and transport it back. I've done it twice to get cars...
Because the new classing is even more confusing than the old one?
From the pic you provided, you did not remove the 3 nuts that hold the strut mount in place and remove it from the car. You will need to do that in order to reassemble. The compressor just can't...
Washing a car? You have time for that now that you're married? That's what rain is for :)
Or, for the street vehicles, Mr Wash (the autox toy doesn't clear the rails)
a&c: Adams driving looks terrible, so the car might as well look the same :)
I'm betting the installation is what caused the problem. If you don't load them up properly by letting the suspension settle fully before they dry into place on the arm, the torsional loads will eat...
Dude, on your car just give up. You're still slow :)
I'm running the Delrins from TMS since last year, and they aren't noticeably louder, but I'm also not expecting them to last forever either.
