From the Baltimore Business Journal:

Annapolis' Tate BMW/Mini has been sold to Group 1 Automotive Inc.

The deal represents the third acquisition for the Houston-based automotive retailer Group 1 since the beginning of the year.

The Annapolis dealership is expected to generate $73 million in annual revenue for Group 1 (NYSE: GPI) and will operate as part of Group 1's eastern region, Group 1 said in a news release. The dealership will be renamed BMW/Mini of Annapolis.

Group 1 owns 105 automotive dealerships, 145 franchises and 27 service centers in the U.S. and United Kingdom.

I heard about this from Kevin Mellett back in March. I've been a loyal Tate customer for several years now and hope this does not affect thier service. Kevin has been there 12 years and said this won't affect him. I certainly hope not since I bought 3 cars from him and have been very, very pleased.

It was Genderson when I bought a 3 series there in 1980. Times are changing.
